Community Living Camp: Day 2 (14.03.2023)

DAY 2

TRAVEL TUESDAY

The second day of our camp was the most awaited one, since it was a field trip day. Hence from that day we were going to stay at the college,  everyone came with bundles of their belongings. At 8'O clock our journey began and we went straight to Padmanabhapuram Palace, which was one among the  historical treasures of the South India.  Eventhough the day had a boiling climate,  nothing would made us stay away from enjoying our maximum throughout the journey. We reached the palace at 10.15 and spend almost one and a half hour at the palace. The palace filled our soul with peace, culture,  tradition and above all, pure satisfaction.  It might be my love for arts that always connects me to such places but I really enjoyed the trip. Heat of the day was managed by refreshing nature drink.

At 12 we went to Thriparappu Waterfalls which was also a splendid place. We had our lunch there and spent 2 hours at the place. Certain spot of the place indeed had a soothing effect and took our mind to a relaxed state. Only drawback that I felt about the place was the untidy condition that prevail there with the plastic and wastes that are been dumped to the river. Another thing was the lack of resting places. A whole time we spend standing. But we had our shopping, careless walking, chatting at the place and enjoyed the moment we spend there.

From there we went straight to St. Mary's House at Kaliyil, which was looked after by CMI Fathers.  We had a warm welcome there along with it we were given fine refreshments. Later we roamed around the garden,  park and mini zoo that was set up there. The place was a relief from the scorching sun. After our visit we reached our college at 6.30 and everyone got busy with getting fresh for the rest of the day. Later we had our dinner and movie time and we went to bed at 11.
