In this week, I had completed the ch3, The Shipwrecked Sailor. Apart from the other chapters that I had taught,  this chapter was a bit challenging and demanding.  The chapter had a whole bunch of new words and phrases which needs a proper in-depth explanation. On each day I dedicate few minutes for a quick quiz session inorder to help the students get track with the key incidents of the chapter. The children were really curious throughout the session and also many of them clarified their doubts. Also I regularly made the children read the text aloud in my class, by randomly calling out their names. By doing so, I get to know, how many of them face difficulty in reading and understanding the word, spellings and pronunciation. Along with it, I also conducted a dictation, in which several students attempted really well. On 25th July,  I got substitution in VIII F, where I taught few paragraphs of the chapter,  The Boy Who Drew Cats.

The first chapter is titled,  "The Shipwrecked Sailor ", which is a small portion of the novella,  'The Story of a Shipwrecked Sailor ', by Gabriel Garcia Marquez.     The fourth week of my teaching practice little bit challenging since there was shuffling of classes taking place. The first day of the week, that is, 3rd July was the ST Thomas Day, our school had holiday. On the next day I taught my children in VIII F, the poem Taj Mahal by Rabindranath Tagore. But on the second day, VIII F was dissolved and the students were splitted to 3 different divisions. Since it will take some time for the formation of new VIII F, my in-charge teacher assigned another class for me, which is VIII D for the time being. In the class I taught the Taj Mahal,  and gives notes regarding the chapter. Also an entire period was spend to teach them the poetic devices used in the poem.  Apart from our classes we also did the discipline duty and noon meal duty.
